The Mid America Workforce Investment Board, in partnership with the Chief Elected Officials for Local Workforce Investment Area (LWIA) 24, comprised of Clinton, Monroe, Randolph, St. Clair and Washington Counties has modified its Methods of Administration (MOA). Title I Information
As a recipient of funds under Title 1 of the Workforce Investment Act of 1998 (WIA), Local Workforce Investment Area 24 (LWIA 24) must comply with Section 188 of WIA, which prohibits discrimination against all individuals in the United States on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, political affiliation or belief as well as against beneficiaries on the basis of either citizenship/status as a lawfully admitted immigrant authorized to work in participation in any WIA Title 1-financially assisted program or activity. These nondiscrimination mandates apply to all LWIA 24 offices, their satellites offices and affiliates, Workforce Investment Board members, and any other contractor or entity with which LWIA 24 arranges to carry out its programs and activities. LWIA 24 provide programs and activities in five counties (St. Clair, Monroe, Randolph, Clinton and Washington)
Title II Information
As a recipient of funds under Title 1 of the Workforce Investment Act of 1998 (WIA), Local Investment Area 24 (LWIA 24) must comply with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, at 29 U.S.C.§ 794 (as amended), Title II of the American With Disabilities Act (ADA), at 42 U.S.C. § 12101 et seq. (as amended), and the Workforce Investment Act (WIA), at 29 U.S.C. § 2938 provide that no person shall, on the basis of disability, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.
