Obtaining copies of recorded documents

Business Customers:

The Recorder of Deeds Archive Access is open daily to the public.  Please call for more information

  • Online –Please see Remote Record Access for more info.
    Copies of most documents recorded Jan 1986 forward are available for a small fee online at www.landrecords.net or via a Laredo account.
  • In Office Copy Requests
    Copy requests MUST include the correct document number or book and page number in order to be fulfilled.
    For copies of documents NOT already available online: 
    Requests of UNDER 10 (non-certified) copies can be made via email or phone.

    Certified copy requests or requests for copies of 10 documents or greater must be mailed in and must include a check for full amount. Please call if you are unsure of the amount owed.

Copy requests will not be fulfilled without the correct copy fee accompanying the request unless the customer already has a pre-existing copy account and the account is in good standing.  Checks should be made payable to: Recorder of Deeds

DD-214 Copy Request Form

Note:
Military discharge documents (DD-214’s) :

A military discharge form (DD‑214) or any other certificate of discharge or release from active duty document that was issued by the United States government or any state government in reference to those who served with an active or inactive military reserve unit or National Guard force and that was recorded by a County Clerk or Recorder of Deeds is not subject to public inspection, enjoying all the protection covered by the federal Privacy Act of 1974 or any other privacy law. Full copies of these documents shall be accessible only to the person named in the document, the named person's dependents, the county veterans' service officer, representatives of the Department of Veterans' Affairs, or any person with written authorization from the named person or the named person's dependents.
