E-Filing

Pursuant to Illinois Supreme Court Rule 9, “all documents in civil cases shall be electronically filed with the Clerk of the Court using an electronic filing system approved by the Supreme Court of Illinois.”

The St. Clair County Circuit Clerk’s Office utilizes the Supreme Court’s E-filing Manager (EFM) Odyssey eFileIL.

The Supreme Court has provided resources to assist in the eFiling process.  The E-Filing Guide for Self Represented Litigants can be found in the documents library on this page.

Some St. Clair County eFiling Guidelines:

  • Exhibits must be attached to a pleading to be accepted through Odyssey. Exhibits will not be accepted separately.
  • When filing into an existing case, please make sure the case number format has the last two (2) numbers of the year the case was filed, alpha characters of the case type and ends with four digits. (Example: 19SC0527, 17LM3245).
  • Pursuant to Supreme Court requirements, the St. Clair County Circuit Clerk’s Office has public eFiling computer terminals for court patrons to use during Office business hours.  All are welcome to use this resource.

Please contact the Circuit Clerk at CircuitClerk@co.st-clair.il.us or 618-825-2323 if you have any questions or concerns.
