For Immediate Release From: St. Clair County Board Chairman Mark Kern RE: United States Space Command Headquarters St. Clair County Board Chairman Mark Kern is pleased to announce that St. Clair County has submitted a site initially proposed for NGA as a viable site to host the United States Space Command Headquarters. Working with Congressman Mike Bost’s office, Senator Dick Durbin’s office, Senator Tammy Duckworth’s office, Lt. Governor Juliana Stratton’s office, as well as local elected officials. Chairman Kern said, “After careful review of the screening and evaluation criteria, we believe our community meets all minimum eligibility requirements and would earn a competitive score when assessed against the evaluation criteria.” Chairman Kern’s nomination letter has been forwarded to the Governor’s office for endorsement.
