Minutes approved. Angela Jackson Chastain of the Office of Justice Programs Diagnostic Center presented its preliminary findings. The entire OJP team has a good grasp of the qualitative factors at work in the MEPDC area. The OIP team noted that they will: • Continue collecting data, especially manpower organization charts • next site visit will reach out to surrounding community police agencies • Continue by-weekly meetings by phone = Page 1 = • coallate all information • October meeting teleconference with Angela and Chief Myers • Identify equipment needs and inventory and determine how to fill the needs by surplus and grants The commission asked when should follow up and when action items should start to arrive. OJP representatives stated that based on bi-weekly phone calls and data analysis that is unknown. This is the first initiative of the Department of Justice Diagnostic Center.
