Property &Recreation Committee Meeting Minutes May 23, 2016 The meeting was called to order by Chairman June Chartrand at 5:30 p.m. Roll Call was taken showing a quorum as follows: Members Present: Others Present: June Chartrand, Chairman Mark A. David Tiedemann, Asst. Chairman Pledge of Allegiance was recited. There were no Public Comments or Question at this Meeting. A motion was made by Mr. Mosley and seconded by Mr. Sharkey to approve the Meeting Minutes for April 18, 2016. Motion passed unanimously. Mrs. Wren gave the Revenue Report. As of today we have a balance in this account is $3,370,303.95. The expenses this month were $21,506.61. A motion was made by Mr. West and seconded by Mrs. Grossmann-Roewe to approve the Revenue Report. Reports given by Mrs. Wren listed below: ? Mr. Touchette: Report lists the visits to the various park sites. If there questions Mr. Touchette is here. ? Silver Creek Preserve: Mr. Isbell reported on May 20, 2016 that all is well at Silver Creek Preserve with the exception of the usual ruts. Mr. Touchette reported on May 3, 2016 that there are new ruts in the island and on side of the road. ? Trinity Services: Sarah of Mike Lowry’s Office at Trinity Services reported on May 20, 2016 that the residents are still doing clean up at Silver Creek Preserve two to three days a week as weather permits. = Page 1 = ? St. Ellen Mine: On May 3, 2016, Mr. Touchette reported that there are new ruts and new graffiti on restrooms at St. Ellen. ? St. Clair County Parks Grant Commission: The usual completion of projects, requests for extensions and payment of invoices for Cycles 22 have been processed during the last month. The St. Clair County Parks Grant Commission met on May 18, 2016 and voted to fund Cycle 23. Cycle 23 will be for “General” purposes with a $30,000.00 cap for each grant. Notice of the Cycle 23 grant and grant applications will be sent out on June 1, 2016 with a return date of July 15, 2016. Mrs. Chartrand encourages each member to contact all parks that are in the County Board District and encourage them to fill out the SCC Parks Grant application for Cycle 23. On another matter we voted that we would send pizza out to Trinity Services. I think it is a nice time now to do that again. Question asked we have talked about surveillance cameras for some of the parks would that be available? Mrs. Chartrand said that we are still working on that right now. There a r e a l o t o f t h i n g s t h a t w e h a v e t o l o o k into the location and going by the Sheriff’s Department recommendations. Mrs. Wren said that the security cameras will be eligible for the new grant application coming out. Mr. Pruett reported with an update on the Dog Park. We are scheduled to plant trees. He did get an email copy of the permit today.so we have a permit and that’s for the water to be used on the trees. A water line will be extended across the street to water the trees and for the dogs. Chairman Kern is going to put in a temporary water tank. It will be set up off the highway temporarily. The fence will probably not be put up for a while. Let the trees get a start and then we will put a fence in maybe around July. The grass looks pretty impressive. A motion was made by Mr. Mosley and seconded by Mrs. Grossmann Roewe to approve the Reports from Mrs. Wren and Mr. Pruett. Motion passed unanimously.
