The St. Clair County Emergency Telephone System Board (ETSB) handles the administrative issues related to 9-1-1 in St. Clair County. The St. Clair County 9-1-1- Director's Office works for the ETSB and is funded by 9-1-1- telephone numbers.
This department is responsible for oversight of eight Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) throughout St Clair County, including establishing 9-1-1 Standard Operating Procedures, maintaining 9-1-1 equipment and databases, and coordinating 9-1-1 Telecommunicator training. The St Clair County ETSB is also responsible for oversight and maintenance of the countywide radio system.
In addition, St Clair County Ordinance 92-375 establishes the St Clair County ETSB as the addressing authority for St Clair County with responsibility for assigning new addresses, both on an individual basis and for new subdivisions, as well as for verification of existing addresses or resolving address discrepancies.
